Chantal Riekel (French-German artist. 1977)
--- --- --- --- ---
The notion of the untold, the recalling of memories that are buried in our minds… Using photography, printmaking and film, Chantal Riekel engages with hidden narratives that emanate from individual and collective experiences. Her creative process is fueled by her background in cultural history, which leads Riekel to carry out research around a particular historical moment, a collection of images, letters and memorabilia.

Alessandro Sau (Cagliari, Italy. 1981)
--- --- --- --- ---
Sau’s work shows his attraction by the process of construction and destruction of things. His paintings, sculptures and installations are conceived as being in a state of becoming. His work consists of multiple fragments of an idea: every work is a fragment, a relic of a process that attempts to make this fragment universal. For Sau, the work should embody the entire process. His work also reveals his education in Philosophy and he often accompanies his pieces with a brief essay about concepts he feels to be fundamental to his art practice. In words of Sau: “I like to think of myself as a person who knows one thing: that he knows nothing?”.

Nicholas Pye (Torquay, England.1976. Lives and works in Canada)
--- --- --- --- ---
His art practice braids together his interests of performance, cinema, video installation and large format still photography. Pye understands his work as a container of other disciplines as theatre and opera. Influenced by authors like Eugène Ionesco or Samuel Beckett, he portraits everyday moments reflecting on the idea of absurdity or loneliness, creating unique scenes and soundscapes, as he plays with the time scale and the impossibility to progress.
